Choir
The Choir of the Lutheran Church By The Lake is a volunteer ensemble of mixed voices which provide service music and an anthem on each Sunday, from September through May, at the 10:15 worship service. Hymns and music of the liturgy are generally sung from the book of Evangelical Lutheran Worship, the hymnal used for our services. A Capella and accompanied anthems are from our ever expanding library of sacred music representative of many different composers and publishers, and are chosen to amplify and enhance a message or theme according to the season of the year or scripture appropriate to the day.

The two dozen plus singers join the Choir without audition, but must informally demonstrate the ability to sing in tune. The Choir rehearses each Wednesday’s at 4:00 p.m. under Director of Music Linda Wakefield.
The Choir is a diverse mixture of interesting and dynamic personalities drawn together to fulfill the sole mission of providing music to enhance worship. Rehearsals are enlivened mixtures of intense concentration on the preparation of music interspersed with jocular social intercourse on unlimited topics. Picnics and Christmas parties, including singers’ spouses or significant others, have long been treasured events enjoyed by Choir members.
The Choir welcomes new members who wish to commit one evening and a Sunday morning each week to assure that Martin Luther’s concept of music for worship will continue to flourish in our community.
