Camp Grand finishes up with its 15th Grand Time!

This past 4th of July week was another ‘Grand’ time for all our campers (4 - 14 ) who attended Camp Grand ’Strand’.  Strand refers to a stretch of beach.  Using ‘Footprints In The Sand’, we developed our theme of Walking With the Lord and used Bible lessons from the beach shores of the Sea of Galilee.  Camp Grand is an innovative version of VBS, a Community Outreach Program of the Lutheran Church By The Lake.  We add a new name to Camp Grand each year.  Previous years were Camp Grand; ‘Slam’, ’Ole Opry’, and ‘Safari’.

This year we went on our walk with 45 campers and about 35 adult volunteers; it was a fun-filled 4 days.   In the morning campers enjoyed classes, music, and crafts.  Back for our afternoon time, we refer to as ‘Fun In The Son’, with time at the pool, at the lake, and finally our Water Palooza with water blasters, a 30’ dual-lane Slip-n-Slide and the SLV fire truck.  Yes, everyone got wet!
